Our roots in construction run deep — spanning multiple generations and continents. It all began in Mexico, where Miguel Tizcareno’s father discovered his passion for true Spanish-Mexican craftsmanship in his twenties. In the early 1970s, he brought that expertise to the United States, establishing his own construction business and laying the foundation for a family legacy that continues today.
Growing up surrounded by this craft, Miguel learned the art of carpentry and construction from a young age, working alongside his father and older brother. These early experiences shaped his respect for detail, precision, and the dedication required to transform homes with lasting quality.
Nearly 30 years ago, Miguel founded his own company — blending timeless Mexican craftsmanship with modern construction techniques. In many projects, he’s even imported authentic materials from Mexico to ensure every detail reflects the beauty and authenticity of his cultural roots.
Over the years, Miguel has built an impressive portfolio of both residential and commercial work. His projects include restorations at Greystone Mansion & Gardens: The Doheny Estate, as well as private residences for well-known clients and homes across Los Angeles’ most prestigious neighborhoods — including Hancock Park, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Bel Air, Playa del Rey, and Santa Monica. He’s also contributed to commercial builds, such as The Coffee Table, a well-known café in Eagle Rock.
With three decades of hands-on experience, Miguel continues to specialize in every aspect of construction — from bathroom and kitchen remodels to ADU/garage conversions and full-scale home renovations. His eye for detail, respect for heritage, and commitment to excellence have made TIZ Construction a trusted name across Southern California.
